Maiyan & Vatna
Fragrant turmeric paste (vatna) applied by female relatives while singing auspicious folk songs. Traditional Rangoli on the floor and four girls holding a red phulkari cloth overhead.
Jaggo & Sangeet Night
Carrying the illuminated brass gaagar (pot) through the night accompanied by live Dhol, boliyan, Bhangra, and Gidha. High energy celebration for 200β300 family and friends.
Choora & Kalire (Nanake)
Maternal uncles and aunts (Mama-Mami) bless Ramneek with red & white ivory bangles (Choora). Sisters and cousins tie golden umbrella ornaments (Kalire) to her wrists.
Milni & Anand Karaj
Sacred Sikh marriage ceremony. Formal turban & garland exchange (Milni) between corresponding family members, followed by the four sacred Laavan at the chosen Gurdwara Sahib.
Joota Chupai
Playful ritual led by Jeena and cousin sisters who hide the groom's shoes during the ceremony and negotiate a fun cash ransom (shagan) before returning them.
Doli & Vidaai
The emotional sendoff where Ramneek tosses handfuls of rice/wheat over her head to wish prosperity upon her maternal home as she embarks to her new life.
